Your first local record: a quiet, practical start

By SteadyScale editorial · Updated October 16, 2026

Start with the storage boundary

SteadyScale’s tracker keeps entries in this website’s browser storage. It does not create a WordPress health account or upload a weight history. Before entering anything, decide whether this is a browser and device you control. Local storage is not an encrypted vault, and a shared device is not private merely because no account is required.

Record a date and a value

Open Tracker, wait for the local-storage-ready message, and choose a date and display unit. Enter a positive value with up to one decimal place. The visible input limits are technical bounds, not a health assessment. The tool accepts today or an earlier valid calendar date; it does not fill in days you did not record.

Correct a mistake without starting again

Use the history controls to edit or remove an entry. A day has one record; a conflicting date needs your attention rather than a silent overwrite. Changing the display between kilograms and pounds does not rewrite the underlying stored mass. A saved record is not a score, a streak or a personalized recommendation.

Make a backup before relying on the browser

Browser cleanup, storage limits, a different device or a new site origin can make records unavailable. Export a JSON backup and keep it somewhere you control. The backup contains sensitive information, so do not attach it to the contact form or treat a public download folder as private.
