Editorial policy
Facts before interpretation
Use the manufacturer’s published US label for the exact product version where available. Record the source URL, date checked, package identity and whether the food is as sold or as prepared. Authorized retailer information can supplement a source but must not silently replace conflicting manufacturer facts.
Unknown information stays unknown
Preserve qualified values such as less-than statements. Distinguish a label’s zero from an unavailable value. Do not convert grams to millilitres without supporting evidence or present calculated estimates as original label measurements.
No invented testing or authority
Our label-based content is not taste-tested. Do not add fictional flavor experiences, satiety results, laboratory photos, medical credentials, certifications, reviews or endorsements. Images must be owned, licensed, or clearly marked original illustrations; public availability alone is not permission to copy.
Authorship and review
Use a real author or a clearly described editorial byline. Relevant credentials must be verifiable before they are stated. A changed food label or package version triggers a new review of dependent conclusions and purchase suggestions; outdated conclusions remain hidden until checked.
Commercial independence and disclosure
Disclose any actual sponsorship, sample or affiliate relationship near the relevant recommendation. Do not fabricate a commission, retailer partnership, discount, price history or lowest-price claim. Commercial links do not use a reader’s weight records.
Corrections
Report a suspected error through Contact & corrections, identifying the page, exact US version and public source if possible. Do not send personal health records. An administrator can investigate, update the source record and review dependent content; we do not invent a response-time guarantee.
